Dynamics of human brain activity during navigation

Dr. Hugo Spiers, UCL, LONDON

What do Samuel Johnson, Mozart, Karl Marx and Francis Bacon all have in common (other than being dead)? Answer: they spent considerable time navigating the labyrinth of street in London's Soho. Evidence indicates they would have likely used their hippocampus and related brain structures to navigate to the myriad of coffee shops and places of ill repute. Until recently this was only speculation. In this Brain Meeting I will reveal the human brain networks associated with navigating Soho and answer the questions: Why is Soho important, and what new story does it tell us about brain function?
