About me


Dr. Thomas Röfer received a Diploma in computer science and Dr. Ing. from Universität Bremen, Germany, in 1993 and 1998, respectively. He currently is Senior Researcher at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) in the research department on Cyber-Physical Systems at Bremen, Germany. He also is a member of the Transregional Collaborative Research Center SFB/TR 8 "Spatial Cognition" at the University of Bremen, funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG). He was member of the Executive Committee of the RoboCup Federation for six years. He also organized the Four-Legged Robot League at the RoboCup 2004 and 2006 and later the Standard Platform League at the RoboCup German Open 2009-2012 and co-chaired the RoboCup 2011 Symposium. He was speaker of the joint RoboCup team GermanTeam in the RoboCup Four-Legged League. He currently is the leader of Bremen‚Äôs B-Human team in the RoboCup Standard Platform League. His research interests include cognitive systems, robot soccer, real-time computer vision, probabilistic world modeling, humanoid motion, and rehabilitation robotics.
